The appearance of a baby in a family is undoubtedly a joyful event. At the same time, it significantly changes the life of the family. Life becomes more fulfilling and at the same time stressful. In a word, it is stress for everyone. What is stress, how does it arise and how does it affect? Stress is a nonspecific reaction of the body in response to a very strong external action that exceeds normal, and a tense reaction of the nervous system. If stress lasts a long time, that is, tension accumulates and we feel how life gradually loses its colors, nothing pleases, the simplest actions have become complicated, etc. This is a crisis moment. A crisis is a situation of disruption of a person's internal and external adaptation, when old behavioral strategies cease to be effective and a restructuring of their identity and worldview is required. Stress and crisis affect health and this has been scientifically proven. Therefore, it is important to notice the signals of stress accumulation in time in order to avoid a deep crisis and serious health disorders, to soften the adaptation to a new life situation. WHAT TO DO IF YOU NOTICE SIGNS OF STRESS? 1. SEEK A PROFESSIONAL There are situations when a person’s ability to save themselves is exhausted and the help of specialists (psychologist, psychotherapist) is needed. Do not hesitate to seek such help. Also, do not hesitate to offer such help to a person close to you if you see that they are unable to cope on their own. 2. BALANCE ALL AREAS OF LIFE:
  • monitor your diet, sleep schedule, do not neglect sports, and regularly take care of your appearance;
  • make friends, maintain communication with loved ones, find new friends based on interests, seek advice and ask for help;
  • maintain contact with work colleagues, stay informed of changes;
  • Take time for yourself, your dreams and plans for the future, meditate, read, and take walks in the fresh air.
