I. Avoidant personality disorder
- I am socially inept and undesirable in work or social situations.
- Other people are potentially critical, indifferent, and inclined to belittle or reject me.
- I can't stand unpleasant feelings.
- If people get close to me, they will discover who I am and reject me.
- It's unbearable when I'm considered inferior or inadequate.
- I must avoid unpleasant situations at all costs.
- If I feel something unpleasant or think about it, I should try to forget about it or distract myself, for example, by thinking about something else, having a drink, taking a pill, or watching TV.
- I should avoid situations where I attract attention, or be as inconspicuous as possible.
- Unpleasant feelings will intensify and get out of control.
- If others criticize me, they are probably right.
- It is better to do nothing than to try to do something that may end in failure.
- If I don't think about a problem, I don't need to solve it.
- Any signs of tension in a relationship indicate that the relationship has deteriorated; therefore, it should be ended.
- If I ignore the problem, it will go away.
II. Dependent personality disorder
- I am needy and weak.
- I need someone who is always available to help me cope with what I have to do or if something bad happens.
- My assistant can take care of me, support me, and trust me if they want to.
- I am helpless when I act alone.
- If I can't get attached to a stronger person, I stay alone.
- The worst thing that could happen to me is if I get abandoned.
- If I am not loved, I will always be unhappy.
- I should not do anything that might offend someone who supports me or helps me.
- I have to be in a dependent position to maintain his good attitude.
- I should always have access to it.
- I must maintain as close a relationship as possible.
- I can't make decisions myself.
- I can't overcome problems like others do.
- I need other people to help me make decisions or tell me what to do.
III. Passive-aggressive personality disorder
- I am self-sufficient, but I need others to help me achieve my goals.
- The only way to maintain a sense of self-worth is to assert yourself indirectly, for example, by not following instructions.
- I like to get attached to people, but I don't want to be controlled.
- People in positions of power are usually pushy, demanding, intrusive, and prone to command.
- I must resist the dominance of those in power, but at the same time seek their approval and acceptance.
- It is unbearable to be under the control or power of others.
- I have to do everything my own way.
- Setting deadlines, meeting demands, and accommodating is a direct threat to my pride and self-sufficiency.
- If I obey the rules as people expect, it limits my freedom of action.
- It is better not to express your anger directly, but to show discontent through disobedience.
- I know what I need and what is good for me, and others shouldn't tell me what to do.
- The rules are arbitrary and limit me.
- Other people are often too demanding.
- If I find people too domineering, then I have the right to ignore their demands.
IV. Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder
- I am fully responsible for myself and others.
- I have to rely on myself to make sure everything gets done.
- Others are too frivolous, often irresponsible, self-indulgent, or incompetent.
- It is important to perform any work perfectly.
- I need order, systems, and rules to get the job done properly.
- If I don't have systems, everything can fall apart.
- Any flaw or defect in the work can lead to disaster.
- You must always maintain the highest standards, or everything will fall apart.
- I have to have complete control over my emotions.
- People should do everything in my opinion.
- If I don't perform at the highest level, I will fail.
- Flaws, defects or errors are unacceptable.
- Details are extremely important.
- I do everything to the best of my ability.
V. Antisocial personality disorder
- I have to be careful.
- Force or cunning is the best way to achieve your goal.
- We live in the jungle, and the strongest survive.
- People will get to me if I don't get to them first.
- It is not necessary to keep promises and repay debts.
- You can lie as long as you don't get caught lying.
- I have been treated unfairly and I have the right to get my fair share by any means available.
- Other people are weak and deserve to be deceived.
- If I don't oppress others, they will oppress me.
- I have to do everything that will go unpunished.
- It doesn't matter what others think of me.
- If I want something, I have to do everything to get it.
- I can get out of the water dry, so I don't have to worry about bad consequences.
- If people can't take care of themselves, that's their problem.
VI. Narcissistic Personality Disorder
- I am a special person.
- Because I am the best, I am entitled to special treatment and privileges.
- I shouldn't be bound by the rules that apply to other people.
- It is very important to gain recognition, earn praise, and arouse admiration.
- If others do not respect my status, they should be punished.
- Other people should meet my needs.
- Other people need to understand how special I am.
- It is unbearable if I am not shown proper respect or if I do not receive what I am entitled to.
- Other people don't deserve the admiration or wealth they receive.
- People have no right to criticize me.
- No one else's needs should have to do with my own.
- Since I'm so talented, people should promote my career.
- Only people as distinguished as I am understand me.
- I have reason to hope for a great future.
VII. Histrionic personality disorder
- I am an interesting, attractive person.
- To feel happy, I have to attract the attention of others.
- If I don't entertain or impress people, I'm nothing.
- If I am not interesting to others, they will not love me.
- To achieve your goals, you need to surprise or entertain people.
- If people don't respond positively to me, they're disgusting.
- It's horrible if people ignore me.
- I have to be the center of attention.
- I can't burden myself with thinking - I just have to rely on my "inner" feeling.
- When I entertain people, they don't notice my weaknesses.
- I can't stand boredom.
- If I feel like doing something, I have to do it.
- People will only pay attention to me when I act in extreme ways.
- Feelings and intuition are much more important than rational thinking and planning.
VIII. Schizoid and schizotypal personality disorder
- It doesn't matter what other people think of me.
- It is important for me to be free and independent.
- I prefer to act alone than with someone.
- In many situations, it is better to be left alone.
- No one influences the decision.
- Close relationships with people are not important to me.
- I set my own standards and goals for myself.
- My private life is much more important to me than being close to people.
- It doesn't matter to me what other people think.
- I can handle everything on my own without any help.
- It's better to be alone than to feel "attached" to other people.
- I shouldn't trust anyone.
- I can use people for my own purposes as long as I manage to avoid close relationships with them.
- Relationships are messy and restrict freedom.
IX. Paranoid Personality Disorder
- I can't trust people.
- Other people have ulterior motives.
- Others will try to use me or manipulate me if I am not careful.
- I must always be ready.
- Trusting people is dangerous.
- If people act friendly, they might try to use or exploit me.
- People will take advantage of me if I give them the opportunity.
- Other people are unfriendly.
- Other people will deliberately try to humiliate me.
- Often people intentionally want to annoy me.
- I will have serious problems if I let other people think they can mistreat me with impunity.
- If other people find out something about me, they use it against me.
- People often say one thing and mean another.
- A person with whom I am in a close relationship may turn out to be treacherous or betray me.
